On a Wednesday night my husband works the night shift so once all the little ones are in bed asleep, child #1 and I have a movie night. The last few weeks we have been watching the Ace Ventura movies.
We watched Pet Detective first which had a few funny bits and we both had a laugh. My son had never seen it before and I hadn't seen it for a loooong time - well over 10 years ago!
*Before I write further, I must warn you that I have been told many, many times that I have a weird, strange, odd, dry sense of humour*
No one in my family finds either of these movies remotely funny and they are all very confused as to why I do find them funny. I am just glad that my son has the same strange sense of humour that I do!!
Last week my son was away on school camp and I had a very lonely Wednesday night, but I did manage to catch up on a lot of recorded Biggest Loser episodes so that was good. Last night we watched Ace Ventura, When Nature Calls - OMG I had forgotten just how stupid and funny it was.
"Do I have something in my teeth?"
There was one scene in particular when Ace spotted a woman wearing a fox around her neck, there was a slight exchange of words between them and then Ace punched her husband - who he referred to as "The Monopoly Guy" - and knocked him out. He then wrapped the man around his shoulders like the fox.
That was a little funny, but what Ace did at the end of that scene when he held the man in his arms and shook him as though he was talking and said "Do not pass go, do not collect $200" - my son and I found this hilarious and replayed it several times killing ourselves laughing before watching the rest of the movie.Alllllllll rightyyy then!
