Back to Basics Challenge

Lately my food focus has been a little off so I have decided to set myself a challenge to get back to basics and what could be more basic than the good old 5 & 2?  5 serves of veges and 2 serves of fruit - easy!!

If I have a green smoothie at some point during the day then that is already 2 serves of fruit and 1 serve of veges, see I told you it was easy.  All I have to do is make sure I have the smoothie and then add in some extra veges throughout the day. 

The challenge isn't hard, but I feel I just need to refocus on some basics to get my head back into the swing of things.  I was in such a good place a little while ago and I really want to get back there.  I need to re-create my routine, I was really enjoying it so I am hoping I won't have too much trouble getting back there.

What helps you to refocus on your journey.......

  • Do you ever go back to the simple basics?
  • Do you take some time out?
  • Do you re-plan all your food and exercise regimes?


  1. You're right about the smoothie. Just by adding a handful or two of fresh spinach to any fruit smoothie is a great way to get both fruit and veggies.

  2. Your fruit & veggies goal is a great one! I often start over and refocus on eating the right stuff after a few days (or weeks) of indulging. I think it's the natural cycle for more people!

  5. Oh I know exactly where you are because I am there too !!!!! This morning I went for a walk - the first in a very long time and I thoroughly enjoyed it - I just need to get back into the habit of exercising because I loved it when I was doing it. Life got in the way and, while that it no excuse, it is what happened. Now I need to change it around - let's change it together.

  6. I'm needing to get back to basics now. Willi replay everything? No. I'll simply get back to what I know works..calories in vs calories out. Healthier choices and weight-loss portions. And exercise. :).

    I've got the exercise so to get the rest. :)
