I Did It......

Today I signed up for the Mother's Day Classic 4k run on Sunday 8 May 2011. I am really excited about it and can't wait for my Event Information Kit to be sent out, unfortunately the sending out of all the kits doesn't even start till the 21st of March and then who knows how long before mine is actually sent out. I'm just so excited about it that I want my kit now. I can't wait to get it and hang my number on the fridge, that way I can see it every single time I go to the fridge or past it to get to the cupboard - it will be a very good reminder of what I am striving towards!

Another good thing about this run is that the money raised goes towards breast cancer research which is why I spent an extra $40, on top of entry on this lovely pink shirt.

Any merchandise purchased will be sent out the week starting 28 Feb, which is next week. I am looking forward to getting my shirt quickly so (1) I can see if it fits properly and (2) to hang on my cupboard so I will see it every night before I go to sleep and also to give me the motivation to get up in the mornings and train for the event. This will be my very first Fun Run that I am actually running in.

I did a 5k last year, but only walked that one because I didn't think I would be able to run it, but as I have said before, this year is MY year and I am going to run the Mother's Day Classic because I really believe that I CAN run it. I have actually found some self-belief in ME and the thing is, I like it!
