Back on the Wagon Challenge

Monday, May 30, 2011

*This is me at the moment!*

I think I actually went over the cliff for a little while, but I am happy to say that I am back. I have even joined a challenge called Back on the Wagon over at Fat Secret. I have also joined a challenge called Lose 30 pounds by Labor Day. Both of these challenges are very do-able so I am actually looking forward to them.

Back on the Wagon : 6 weeks
  • Eat Breakfast within 2 hours of waking up
  • Have a small meal every 3 hours or so
  • Drink a minimum of 8 glasses of water per day
  • Exercise as much as you can
  • Sleep - get enough
  • Have fun - make sure you enjoy what you are doing
  • Track - write down everything - food, exercise and emotions
  • Pictures - take before, during and after photos
  • Processed foods - eat as little as possible, focus on whole, fresh foods
  • NO eating after dinner / or in bed
Lose 30 pounds by Labor Day : 12 weeks
  • Exercise a minimum of 3 times a week for a minimum of 30 mins
  • Encourage and support at least one other member each week
  • Drink a minimum of 8 glasses per day
  • Healthy Choices - read food labels, know what you are putting into your body
Both challenges have similar guidelines so they blend well together. There are other challenges available, but I felt that these 2 suited my lifestyle a little better than the others.

The doctor has said that I can do light exercise so I will start with the 200 squats program and some walking on the treadmill. I think the squats will be fine because you have to keep your back straight so there should be no pain as long as I do them correctly. I suppose it's a good way of making sure my technique is right - pain = wrong!
