The T-Bar

Monday, June 6, 2011

I am loving my new Tupperware toy! It's called the T-Bar and it is used to make bars - breakfast, muesli, fruit, savory and even sweet bars, but I don't think I will be rushing into trying any of the sweet ones (as Kath says) "at this late stage."

I don't think the Chocolate Cookie, Chocolate Hedgehog or Caramel Slice bars would work well with my current food regime, I actually think they would blow it out of the water and completely knock me off the wagon again :) So for now, I will be sticking with the "healthy" recipes.

The recipe I used didn't actually come from the supplied ones, but that is because I didn't have most of the ingredients needed so I just threw together what I had lying around and it became the Good Morning T-Bar treat that is great for or with breakfast.

I started with :
  • 1 cup of my breakfast cereal
  • 1/3 cup of sunflower seeds
  • 1/3 cup slivered almonds

I then decided to add a 1/3 of a cup of shredded coconut as well

Gave it all a stir.................

added 2 tablespoons of Golden Syrup and mixed together.

I spooned the mixture into the 4 slots and pushed down with that thing you use to push the mixture down with - you may have guessed that I don't know what it is called.

It ended up looking like this!

I put on the lid and put it in the fridge to set.

After at least an hour I decided to see how they went. I think they look great and smell great, but they are very bendy and didn't really hold together as well as I had hoped, but I was right - it did taste great.

When you get the T-Bar it not only comes with a little recipe book, but it also comes with a special little carry case just big enough for 1 of your delicious bars to fit in.

just pop it in your bag and off you go.

I will definitely follow one of the recipes next time to see if I can get a better consistency where the bar doesn't end up looking like a banana mmmmmm banana.
